Bow Making blues

Only another card maker can relate to the bow making blues....
This card is for my future DIL, whom I adore.  She's a bit of a hippy chick and I thought this adorable Saturated Canary image would just be perfect for her.  I've sort of swayed away from the coloring during this 100 cards challenge because it takes me so long to color images that I don't even want to stop to calculate how long it might take me to produce 100 cards with colored images.   So today was a nice change (and this is card 100.71, just for the record)  And I knew going in to it it was going to take me longer and I was fine with that - because the card was special.  What I didn't take into account was how long it was going to take me to get the bow the way I wanted it!  I hope I'm not alone in tying and retying and tweaking and cutting and trimming.  And it's still not entirely the way I wanted it, but the ends were fraying (not to mention my temper) and I knew if I chopped much more off of them, I'd end up having to start all over again and that would not have been a good thing at all.
So that's the tale of my bow making blues... please tell me someone out there can relate?

Can definitely relate about the bows! I have even gone so far as to look up instructions for various bows and they still never come out quite the way I want them to. I blame it on being left-handed! :) Cute card-your DIL to be will love it!

Love the image - so fun! I sure can sympathize with you on tying bows. I'm all thumbs and have to do over several times until I give up!

I can sooooooo relate to your bow making woes. I've been there myself many times. Your coloring is exceptional. So much detail in her hair and great shading on her outfit! I can see it would take a long time to color this masterpiece.

What fun! She's darling! And I say that as a former flower child who, back in the day, played folk piano for tips in San Francisco.

I don't use ribbon much, but when I do, I swear by my imaginisce cutter and sealer. It costs about $20 (I got mine on Amazon), and works on two batteries. I wasn't convinced when it arrived because it's tiny and looks China plastic cheap, but it cuts perfectly with internal wires in seconds and even seals sheer organza ribbon edges.

As for actually tying the bows, I can't help you there. Those are always hard for me. Sometimes I suspect I that, being a perfectionist, I notice flaws the recipient won't. You can see product videos on YouTube.

Such a cute image and the coloring is amazing! And I can totally relate to the bow issue...thats why I have to stick to knots! Lol! And if I must have a bow...I have to tie a separate one and glue the bow onto the card! :-)

What a great image and love the colours and your colouring. The bow looks great...the blues for me is usually caused by an ill placed greeting stamped slightly askew after the whole card is put together that annoys me the most.
