Cards For Heroes

Thank you all so much for supporting the CFH bloghop and for all the kind comments left here. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect when I signed up to join in. It was my first blog hop and I found out about it at the very last minute (hence I was the second to last blog on the hop) made my card on Saturday morning and posted it just before the deadline, then went off to a BBQ and came back to a bunch of comments! And then a bunch more....

I visited every blog on the hop and commented on them all! Along the way I found lots of new friends (you know who you are!!), moving stories from those who have lost loved ones and fabulous art work. I can't think of a better way to spend my weekend Smiley from millan.net-

I've started on my promised pledge of cards to CFH........

What do you think? Because of the number I am making, I wanted to keep them simple, a style I struggle with but I kind of like these.

I also went through my card stash, card fronts and swaps, and repurposed quite a few of them so I currently have about 50 cards ready to go. Cards For Heroes are currently running a summer challenge which I have linked in my new 3rd column (she said casually)

How do you like the new look for the blog? I've been wanting a 3 column design for a while now and if I had known how many visitors I was going to have this weekend, I would have tidied and decorated before then, rather than late on Monday night! I got the template from Smitten Designs . Next on the "to do' list is to work out how to make a cute header - mine is kind of boring really - but I have a few more cards to make before that happens.

Oh, and in other news, the rain is finally slowing here. Work on the Ark can be abandoned for now Smiley from millan.net It has still rained every day, but now it's only for an hour or so instead of all day.

Wow! You are off to a great start on your cards for heros!!! Great work! I love your new blog look! I have been wanting a three column blog too and actually reworked my html to a 3 column but it ran a little over every 3 column background I could find so I just went with a 3 column bg and widened my two columns... now I want to try the three again! So.. you got the full template instead of altering your blogger one? I'd love to know more! I'm going to check out that site. Have you had any problems? I've heard there are some hitches with third party templates and that's why I was scared of it but wow... this looks great!!!

Those cards are super-duper!! Love the string on the hearts. New blog design looks great - the buttons on the header were a nice touch :)

First off, the cards are wonderful, and I think the CHF hop was a great idea. Your post rocked. Secondly, I have no idea how to do a three column blog, but I'd like to . . . I think I would need someone staring over my shoulder to make it work for me.

I actually love your cards - they don't look too simple at all, very elegant! Great idea to repurpose some swap cards... :)
