A sexy little number...

Isn't 50 the new 40? And isn't it odd how your perception of "old" changes as you get older yourself? I used to think 50 was perfectly ancient, but as I close in on it myself, I view it completely differently!
I have a very good friend who turns 50 on Sunday, and while I know she's not thrilled about it, it's still better than the alternative, right? I'm hoping this card will make her smile. I got the idea from
SCS (where else?). I saw all these corset cards appearing in the galleries and futher investigation led me to this thread which has the link to the template and everything. I've just been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. The cardstock is a beautiful sheet my aunt sent me from the UK - the black pattern is raised and glossy, like you had embossed it, only without the mess, and I found the ribbon on clearance in Michaels this weekend and immediately fell in love with it. The little card slides into the card and although you can't really tell from the picture the white cardstock is mounted on black "glittered" paper - it's very cool IRL. I can't decide if it's "done" yet or not - should I add something to the top of the card (I have some very pretty heart shaped eyelets - maybe one of those and some ribbon) to make it tag like so she knows to pull it out, or whether to leave it as is and just make sure the insert is visable amongst the lace - what do you think?

I love it! the colors are great. I know what you mean about aging. Forty doesn't seem old at all now that it is getting closer and closer.

OMG Kay - I can relate to your GF. I turn 50 next week and just want it to go away! I am sure she will love the card and it will put a smile on her face. AND YES... I agree... 50 is the new 40. It is my Mantra!

This is so adorable! So, the tag goes into the corset, right? I think it would look great with a brad as you suggested. And if you have any black ribbon left you could tie that off so they can pull it out.

Well that really ought to make her smile! And as someone who is rapidly approaching 50 as well (ahem! not to name any names!) I can really appreciate it. So cute!

This is awesome!! Yep....when I was 20, thought there was no way guys could look "good" when they were 40. Now that I'm 40...there are some decent looking guys, and the 20 year olds look like kids!

This is so sexy and cute (I hope that's OK to combine those too - why can't you be sexy and cute at the same time?!) Anyhoo - this is a fantastic card and your friend will just love it! I want to learn how to make one myself!!! (I imagine this might even work as a "suggestive sentiment" card for Valentines for my hubby next year...hmmmm)
